Algeria Included Three Players From Premier League

Algeria have included three players from the Premier league for the upcoming World Cup 2014. Algeria national team coach Vahid Halilhodzic recently came out with the 30 man squad that will be the provisional list for the World Cup. Seven players will be missing out on the cut for the final 23 that will be announced later this month. Preparations are going on within the Algeria national team camp in order to do well at the World Cup 2014. The team has a good chance of progressing to the knockout stages since they are in a group containing the likes of Belgium, Russia, and Korea.

Apart from Belgium, the rest are considered to have equal opportunities to book a place in the knockout stages. Players with Premier league experience will certainly be a major boost for the national team since they will be coming up against the best in the world. Tottenham midfielder Nabil Bentaleb is one of the first names included in the squad. The teenager has been part of the first-team squad under Tim Sherwood. He only recently won his first cap with the national team and it came back in March. He will now be looking to add some more caps between now and the end of the World Cup.

Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez is also included in the squad after having an extremely well with the team that could promoted to the Premier league with a record number of points from the Championship. “I only found out about Mahrez in February and went to watch a few of his matches. He’s an interesting player. His form has improved tremendously in recent times and he’s an important player for the spirit of the squad,” said the manager about players like Mahrez and Djebbour after announcing the provisional squad.
